Looking for a corporate party venue in Taipei, or trying to plan a team dinner that isn't the usual restaurant or KTV room? Both of those tend to hit the same walls: fully booked dates, or a karaoke box so loud nobody actually talks. A darts bar in Taipei's East District is an option people don't usually think of. Here's why it can work for groups, roughly what to expect, and how to ask.
Where restaurant and KTV bookings usually go wrong
- Fully booked dates: year-end party season fills up good venues months ahead
- KTV rooms are loud and passive: everyone's on their phone between songs, coworkers from different teams barely talk
- Headcount guesses are risky: book a set menu for 30, five people cancel, and whoever's organizing eats the cost
Why a darts bar works for groups
- Open 24 hours, so you're not working around anyone else's business hours, even a late weeknight works
- No cover charge, so a smaller-than-expected group doesn't feel like a wasted booking, and a bigger one isn't charged more either
- Darts is a built-in icebreaker: people who barely know each other can team up and compete, which beats sitting around making small talk
- Hotdogray can serve food buffet-style while people play, instead of everyone sitting through a formal set menu. The brand's story is on the Hotdogray website
How many people, and how food works
There's no fixed minimum or maximum headcount: a small team dinner or a bigger department event are both worth asking about. Whether a buyout is possible, and how many people the space can actually hold, is confirmed on the spot or over LINE, we're not going to promise a number in advance.
On food: Hotdogray's kitchen runs on a fixed schedule (roughly Tuesday through Friday plus every other Saturday, 8pm to midnight), not 24 hours. If you want food for a group, check that schedule on LINE first. The dartboards themselves run 24-hour self-service regardless of the kitchen hours. You can also bring your own drinks, the one rule is a NT$50 cleaning fee per person for more than 3 alcoholic drinks.
How to ask about a buyout on LINE
There's no online booking system. The fastest way is to message us on LINE with your rough date, time, headcount, and whether you want Hotdogray food included. We'll reply based on what's possible that day.
