Hurting your hand playing darts late at night? Finger and wrist care after throwing

Standing at the line for game after game late into the night, darts hand pain is actually pretty common, especially in the fingers and wrist. This isn't about the throwing motion itself, that's a separate guide, this one's just about taking care of your hand before and after you throw, a few simple stretches can ease the tightness.

Warm up before, it matters more than fixing it after

A lot of people walk straight up to the line and start throwing before their fingers and wrist are even awake. Spend one minute before you start: roll your wrist in circles, open your fingers wide and make a fist a few times, get some blood into your hand. That does more than dealing with tightness halfway through a session.

Take breaks, don't throw non-stop

It's easy to string game after game together when you're on a roll, but your fingers and wrist need rest just like the rest of your body. Throw a few rounds, then get up, walk around, grab some water, and a break is a good time to grab some Hotdogray hot dogs, too. Your feel usually doesn't drop after a proper break, if anything it comes back steadier.

When not to push through

If you get persistent pain, swelling, or numbness in your fingers or wrist, stop, don't force it. These stretches are quick mid-session relief, not medical advice. If pain doesn't improve, see a medical professional, don't try to self-diagnose.
