A friend just got into darts and you want a birthday or Secret Santa gift to match? This is our gift guide for darts players, split into three budgets, from a NT$400 case to an electronic board, all linked to what the AI DARTS darts shop actually stocks. One rule up front: if you don't know what they like, don't buy them darts.
First check: soft tip or steel tip
Most darts bars in Taiwan run soft tip (electronic boards) with plastic points, usually on a 2BA thread. Steel tip is a separate system; points and boards don't cross over. If your friend plays in a bar here, it's almost certainly soft tip; if unsure, check whether the points on their darts are plastic or metal. More in soft tip vs steel tip darts.
Under NT$500: Secret Santa territory
- A dart case: everyone needs one and it's hard to get wrong. The COSMO Darts Case S is about NT$380, the D-CRAFT MiNi case about NT$420.
- Pocket bullseye: the D-craft Portable Bull, about NT$330, is a bull-only target you can stick up for aim practice, and it doubles as a tip case.
- A first set of darts: if they don't own darts yet, the brass D-CRAFT ZONE BRASS (about NT$420) or D-CRAFT animal darts (about NT$470) are fine starters.
NT$500 to 1,500: a thoughtful gift
- Player-edition case: L-style's KRYSTAL ONE comes in lots of pro player editions for about NT$797, such as Mikuru Suzuki and Masumi Chino. Who are they? See our profiles of Mikuru Suzuki and Masumi Chino.
- Two-set wallet: the one80 SHARD WALLET, about NT$600, EVA shell with room for spare points and flights.
- A better starter set: CALIBURN Combo brass at about NT$680, or DYNASTY SILVER LINE at about NT$1,467.
NT$1,500 and up: the big gift
- Home electronic board: the D-CRAFT SPIDER PRO quiet board (about NT$1,685, full size, built to be quiet) or the GRAN DASH board (about NT$2,781, supports online play). See how to choose a home dartboard.
- Tungsten darts: CALIBURN Wolfpack, about NT$2,380, 90% tungsten. Slimmer and steadier than brass, but weight and grip are personal, so only buy if they've tried them or told you exactly which ones.
Prices are from the product pages in October 2026; check the shop for current prices. Boards ship within Taiwan only.
Visiting Taiwan? Darts make a good souvenir
Darts and cases are small and light, so they fit in a carry-on, and the Japanese brands on the shelves here (D-CRAFT, COSMO, L-style, DYNASTY) are easy to find. The product pages note in-store pickup, so you can order and collect while you're in Taipei; message us on LINE first to check.
Not sure what they like?
The barrel is the most personal part of a dart: a little more weight or a different grip changes everything, and nobody wants to tell you the gift's wrong. Safer picks are cases and consumables: points, flights and shafts all wear out, so spares always get used. What each part does is in our beginner gear guide.
Or give them a night out: bring them to AI DARTS. We're open 24 hours, no cover charge, bring your own drinks, with Hotdogray hot dogs Tuesday to Friday nights; the menu is here. AI DARTS members can also turn points 1:1 into shop credit and pick their own gear.
FAQ
Q: What weight darts should I buy as a gift?
A: We'd skip choosing weight for someone else. If you're not sure, get a case or consumables.
Q: What's a good darts gift under NT$500?
A: A case (about NT$380 to 420), a pocket bullseye (about NT$330) or brass starter darts (about NT$420 to 470).
Q: Is an electronic dartboard a good gift?
A: Yes, if they have about 3 metres of space and won't annoy the neighbours. See our dartboard guide.
